Review: My Soul to Steal (Soul Screamers #4) by Rachel Vincent

Synopsis (via Goodreads):
Trying to work things out with Nash—her maybe boyfriend—is hard enough for Kaylee Cavanaugh. She can't just pretend nothing happened. But "complicated" doesn't even begin to describe their relationship when his ex-girlfriend transfers to their school, determined to take Nash back.

See, Sabine isn't just an ordinary girl. She's a mara, the living personification of a nightmare. She can read people's fears—and craft them into nightmares while her victims sleep. Feeding from human fear is how she survives.

And Sabine isn't above scaring Kaylee and the entire school to death to get whatever—and whoever—she wants.
My Thoughts: I loved book #3 (My Soul to Keep) so much that I knew it was going to be on my favorite books list at about the halfway mark.  I came into this book wondering if it was going to be able to live up to the awesomeness of that.  Guess what?  It did indeed.

Kaylee's issues with what Nash did in book #3 are the driving force behind her behavior and insecurities in this book.  She needs to learn to trust him again.  He's doing everything he can think of to prove to her that she's the only one for him.  Of course this is when the ex-girlfriend shows up.  So, now Kaylee has all the insecurities of high school, a boyfriend she's afraid to trust and Nash's ex who is determined to do anything to get him back.

Oh, yeah.  And then people start dying.

Yep, just another day in the life of a teenage bean sidhe.

I adore Kaylee and Nash together.  I love the way Tod butts in and tries to protect Kaylee.  I also love that Tod is trying to make Kaylee think outside the box.  She is so blinded by the way that Sabine is trying to sink her claws into Nash that she wants her to be the bad guy.  She refuses to consider anyone else and that handicaps her.  Tod is the voice of reason.  You know, I like Tod.  A lot.  And I still think he needs a happily ever after.

I honestly love this entire series.  The writing is fabulous, the characters are outstanding, the bad guys are creepy.  Heck, even some of the good guys are creepy.  Check it out.  You can thank me later.
